Armani-Gaga

One of Lady Gaga’s biggest fans is stepping up to supply couture-level stagewear for the performer’s next world tour.

Giorgio Armani will once again garb Gaga in outré yet danceable creations, this time for her Born This Way Ball tour.
‘Collaborating with Lady Gaga is always an exciting experience for me,’ Armani said. ‘I admire the way she uses fashion as a scenic element and as a means to build a character.’
Sketches of the stage wear reveal PVC and plexiglass leotards, weapons-grade headpieces, ‘robotic thigh-high boots’, metal studs and mane-like fringing. The accessories alone sound as though they could do serious damage—one pair of gloves ends in mirrored nails. Another leotard features a ‘Cubist composition of abstract guitars’ and a keyboard headpiece.
By far the most covered-up of the four costumes is a long-sleeved, floor-length tunic. If you’re thinking ‘nightgown’, don’t—it’s made of skin-toned latex, with ‘luminous pvc elements’ inset into the chest, headpiece and matching ankle boots.
Previously, Armani dressed Gaga in the latex nurse-style costume she wore for 2010’s Monster Ball tour. She also wore a series of his couture designs to the2010 Grammy Awards ceremony.
‘She is an artist of many talents and great intelligence,’ Armani continued. ‘Creating stage costumes for her is a stimulating and creative exercise.’
We suppose this means Armani has forgiven Gaga for throwing shoes of his design into the audienceafter a high-energy show in 2010.
